DAN AKINLOLU LAUNCHES “THE FUSION PROJECT” TRANSFORMING AFRICAN LITERATURE INTO AI POWERED FILMS
The project aims to bridge the gap between literature and visual storytelling by transforming written narratives into engaging film experiences. All films will premiere on the GreyTV channel on YouTube, creating a digital hub for African AI-driven storytelling.
The initiative launches with its pilot short film, “Bata,” an experimental AI short designed to test and refine the production workflow that will power future releases.
“The Fusion Project is about reimagining how literary African stories and authors are seen and experienced,” said Mr Dan Akinlolu. “We are creating a new pathway where writers’ voices are not only read and heard in the classrooms but watched, shared, and globally participate in the creative economy using emerge technology.”
Following Bata, the project will move into full production on additional titles including Ecclesiastic of Kofi Mensah, Rusted Knuckles, and Omo Dudu, a Yoruba-language short film that highlights the importance of indigenous storytelling.
Beyond filmmaking, The Fusion Project is designed to benefit African writers by offering new revenue opportunities, global exposure, and collaborative adaptation processes that preserve the integrity of their work.
Grey Consortium is currently seeking partnerships with authors, publishers, cultural institutions, and technology companies to expand the initiative and scale production.“Bata” will premiere soon on GreyTV’s YouTube channel, with new short films scheduled for release every month.
